ULTRAVISIONS Open House , a "HUGE SUCCESS"
Ultra Visions General Manager Tom Jacob was on hand with the Ultra Visions professional staff demonstrating the variety of MovieCam & Arriflex Cameras, magazine and lenses to the many renowned Cinematographers, as well as Operators & Assistants. Many attendees were unfamiliar with the many diverse capabilities of the MovieCam SL and Compact cameras. Both cameras can be configured from Studio to Hand Held to SteadiCam, on set in only 3-5 short minutes! The SL can be also be fit with Compact optics to make use of an extention eyepiece and flicker free color video. Additionally, The new SR-Plus Cameras were shown to have some feature advances over the SR3. With in-camera interchangeable formats, 4 color glow, 0-99 fps, on board intervalometer, film video sync control and the exclusive 1200 Zeller magazines that allow 33 minutes at 24fps without changing a magazine. A standard for theVH1 Storytellers program for MTV Networks.

Ultra Visions founder / President, Carl Porcello, ASC Associate member, felt this was "Not only great time for our open house, but also a great time to show the men and women of our industry new lighting and camera equipment. The Los Angeles Film market has never been so challenged. I thought it would be a great time to bring everyone together and remind each other that our industry is still here and going strong even in these diverse times and to keep a positive outlook toward the coming year."
Along with Ultra Vision were other remarkable sponsors of the event. Thanks to Bill Russell, ASC Associate Member, Arriflex Corporation, with its newest 435 Advanced Camera, was notably represented by Stephan Ukas- Bradley, Service Manager, and Fred Martinez, Sales & Customer Service supervisor. We were shown the latest features the 435 advanced has to offer, now with motion control and in-camera effects Interface capabilities and the new intervalometer door with single frame capping shutter and a new minimum frame rate of only 0.1fps!
ELS "Entertainment Lighting Service" of North Hollywood were present with lighting rental gear, John Chuck, President made sure that the members can easily locate the latest in the State of the Arts in lighting and Special effects, Tracy (Tiny ) LaVietes Rental Associate was on hand to answer any of the questions regarding lighting.
Another proud sponsor of this event was High Lux Corporation with Mofid Bissada, President demonstrating the latest products from High Lux.
